This installation from the Sculpture House 1999 in Stockholm was an attempt to describe the arbitrary, impersonal violence that can befall people.

The viewer is exposed to random and unpredictable violence without being harmed.

The installation is very physical in the sense that a machine subjects the viewer to projectiles in the form of clay pigeons thrown at the viewer, who become an actual target. The viewer is protected by the front glass in the shelter that the visitor has access to.

In the gigantic room there is a podium, 35 m centrally into the room. On it stands a machine that moves back and forth laterally and scans the room towards the viewer. When the machine detects the viewer in the sheltered space it sends the projectile, the clay pigeon, across the room towards the viewer and hits the front glass with a sharp bang about where the person's head is. A cascade of splinters spreads in the surrounding room and gradually colors the floor surface orange, which becomes a color echo of the surrounding brick walls.

The Sculpture House was at the time located in Nobel's old acid factory for the production of dynamite around 1900
