This is the first work in this technique, Icon which was shown in 1990 at the Sveagalleriet in Stockholm. The humidity of the air and differences in the object and its temperature compared to the surrounding air provide the material for the images on the surface of the work. It becomes a kind of evaporating drawings that slowly appear on the smooth image surface.

The idea of materializing something invisible was central to this object. The patterns hidden in the work are switched on and off at different times. It becomes a process of the visible patterns growing or decreasing in a melting and freezing process. The image surface never becomes static.

It is in constant change.
